In 2 years Bernie produced 350 acoustic guitars before adopting the professional name B.C. Rich Guitars. The first B.C. Rich built electrics were inspired by the classic Les Paul and later Bernie also produced some Stratocaster styles before developing staples that are recognised the world over such as the Rich, Eagle, Seagull, Warlock, Mockingbird and Ironbird. To this day these guitars continue to be popular amongst the heavy metal fraternity both due to the unique tone they produce and their stability at high volumes and when distorted and also of course their unique shape that projects a threatening image much loved by metallers everywhere.
