Blade Guitar Shops
Blade Guitars is the brainchild of Gary Levinson who began repairing guitars in 1964. He started by putting to good use his multiple university degrees in applied and natural
sciences; he approached guitar building from an
analytical standpoint. Inherent resonant frequencies
of woods, innovative electronics and the tonal effect
of hardware designs are important factors in his concept
development. Equally as important is the role of "metaphysics" in the creation of Blade guitars, with years of exhaustive research going into those exclusive
components that make a great guitar feel and sound right
to a player. In 1977 Levinson opened his first workshop in Switzerland, and by 1982 had laid the foundations for Blade Guitars by creating a series of stunning prototypes that used innovative and experimental pickup systems and a position-determined profile neck. By 1987 a deal had been struck with a manufacturer and Blade guitars were produced on a worldwide scale.
The decision to create Blade guitars as a stand alone company dates back to 1985.
By 1986 the idea of a line of Blade guitars built on the concept
of "Classic Design, Creative Technology" was
being refined the features needed to make the line unique
were determined. January 1987 a manufacturing alliance
was made to bring the highest integrity in build with
the most innovative developments. By October 1987 the
first Blade created guitars were shown at the music show in Tokyo
and the Frankfurt Musikmesse 1988 heralded the launch
into Europe. Blade guitars are produced by guitarists for guitarists, they were born in the sweat, blood and tears of the repair shop and Levinson was able to put years of experience listening to exactly what guitarists want into the creation of his own line of instruments. Instruments crafted under the Blade label have been one of the fastest and best selling modern instruments launched in recent years.
