Fernandes Guitar Shops
Fernandes create guitars and accessories for a global market. Their own unique brand of Fernandes guitars carry the same branding. The company can trace its roots back to Japan in 1969 when they used to produce classic and flamenco guitars, and as the company began to expand they included acoustic, electric, bass guitars and amplifiers in their product showcase. Fernandes quickly grew to become one of the largest guitar manufacturers in Japan. During the 1970s, it became Japan's premier manufacturer of Fender copies; its Stratocaster
copy, in particular, is generally considered a vastly superior
instrument to the actual Fender Strats of the period. Fernandes also
owned a brand for Gibson replicas known as Burny. The company is widely known in the US and Europe for their unique sustainer system that uses electromagnetism to vibrate a string for an infinite period as long as the user continues to fret a note. Fernandes' custom shop has installed numerous Sustainers into guitars built by other manufacturers. In 1992 Fernandes USA opened its doors on an unsuspecting Californian public, the brand quickly became known for high quality instruments are affordable prices. With models like the Ravelle and
Nomad, and with the Sustainer System technology, their Research and
Development Department strived to find new ways to define the way the
world plays guitars. Catering to everyone from the first-time buyer to
the seasoned pro, Fernandes offers many options to meet their needs. An
invaluable understanding of the guitars and their players fuels the companies strong
commitment to the consumer and the quality they demand. It is this
approach that helped to establish Fernandes Guitars as the leading
guitar manufacturer in Japan and to become a competitive manufacturer
in the American Market.
