Jackson Guitars
Jackson Guitars origins are from the late 1970s, where a small southern guitar repair shop grew to what Jackson Guitars are today, and are now regarded as manufacturers of guitars highly original and high performance, heavy metal is deep in Jackson Guitars roots and history.
During the early 1980s there was a wealth of new young guitarists who demanded more from their guitars and Grover Jackson obliged with his small team of highly skilled craftsmen created a new breed of high performance guitars - Jackson Guitars.
Grover, who is a native Tennessee, bought 'Charvel's Guitar Repair' Shop (Glendora, California) from his former employer 'Wayne Charvel' and continued to make Charvel guitars which in 1979 were the top guitar choice for many of the new guitar heroes that were around the heavy metal scene at the time.
Grover Jackson was contacted by guitarist Randy Rhoads (Quiet Riot, Black Sabbath) and asked Jackson if he would design and build a new guitar for him. Grover Jackson met and designed by sketching it out on a paper napkin, and created the Concorde Jackson Guiitar, with its futuristic, angular shape - this was a sleek white Jackson Guitar with an offset V-Shape. and for the very first time the Jackson Brand Name on the headstock.
The Legendary Jackson Rhoads Guitar as know today, was a second version of the original with alterations coming from Rhoads being added to the new Jackson Guitar.
Throughout the 1980s Jackson Guitars were used by many of the leading Heavy Metal Rock Bands and boasted a higher performance than the more traditional Charvel Guitars, Jackson Guitars were created in a range of highly original models and their popularity grew quickly in the mid 80's.
Some of the more legendary Jackson Guitar Models include the Jackson Kelly™, King V™, Double
Rhoads, Soloist™, bolt-on neck Dinky™, and Concert™ Bass, Jackson PC1 and the X-shaped Warrior™.
Heavy Metal Music and Jackson Guitars were welded together in the same breath throughout the 80's and 90's and were used by bands from all types of Metal, speed metal, death metal, goth, nu metal, grunge, metalcore, rap metal and more.
Recently the Jackson Guitar group have continued to manufacturer quality guitars and custom guitars and production Jackson Guitars, with the excellent Jackson Custom Shop still creating Guitar Greats in the United States, many of the original staff still work there and still do this day working their skills to create the Jackson Guitars that are used worldwide by Rock Guitarists who would no doubt agree that Jackson Guitars are world class high performance Guitars.
